Glynn met Michael Moore through mutual connections while they were both working in the film industry. Both natives of Michigan, the two clicked instantly and found that they shared many of the same ideals and enjoyed documentaries. In 1991, Glynn and Moore married each other in their home state and began creating documentaries together.
In 2013, Moore filed for divorce after his wife sank over $1 million dollars into an extravagant lakeside home in northern Michigan. He felt that the purchase went against their anti-capitalistic values, and treated it as the straw that broke the camel’s back. Their divorce was finalized in 2014.

Kathleen began her career in the film industry much like other young professionals: by joining film crews and interning. Her first job on a set was as an intern for the 1992 film Malcolm X, a biopic about the life of the Civil Rights activist of the same name.
Later that year, she was brought on as a wardrobe assistant for the film My New Gun. In 1995, Glynn became the lead title and costume designer for the film Canadian Bacon.

After Canadian Bacon, Glynn began working almost exclusively as a producer, and almost exclusively with documentaries.
In 2000, she got the chance to produce a TV series documentary called The Awful Truth, where her then-husband Michael Moore exposed the corruption behind events such as the Gulf War and systematic issues such as homelessness and racial profiling by police. She acted as executive producer for all 15 episodes.
Glynn produced a few more documentaries before working again as the executive producer for the documentary Sicko in 2007. Once again teaming up with Moore, they shed light on the United States’ for-profit health care industry and how damaging it is to average Americans.
Sicko won multiple awards, and was even nominated for an Oscar for Best Documentary in 2008.
In 2009, she worked as an executive producer on Capitalism: A Love Story, which examined large corporations looking to expand their profits and how those profits often came at the expense of the masses.
Glynn’s most recent documentary, which came out in 2017, was Soufra. The story centered around a few refugees on Lebanon who, against all odds, have become entrepreneurs.
