Fred made his debut in Roberto Rossellini’s films. He returned to the states in the early 1970s. His main role was in the Escape from Alcatraz. His first starring role in a film was Timerider; The Adventure of Lyle Swann.
Fred became an actor after studying at Herbert Berghof Studio and in Rome. During his time in Italy, he dubbed Italian movies and worked as a mime until he made his debut in two Roberto Rossellini films. Immediately after he returned stateside in the early 1970s, Fred spent time working in experimental theatre and doing some television work.
