She began her journalism career in Los Angeles at KTLA Channel 5 immediately after graduating High School in 1999.
Soumada continued work while attending University and stayed at KTLA for 15 years covering news in and around Los Angeles stretching from Ventura, Orange, San Bernardino, as well as Riverside Counties. Soumada was an Assignment Editor for the duration of her time there.
