Peaty first joined the Dove Valley Swimming Club in Uttoxeter when he was nine and began winning races and breaking club records when he was twelve. Adam Peaty 2019 World Aquatics Championships
Peaty broke his own world record in the semi-final of the 100-meter breaststroke with a time of 56.88 at the 2019 World Aquatics Championships held in Gwangju, South Korea, and became the first man to swim under 57 seconds in the event before anyone else had ever swam under 58 seconds. After finishing first in front of his training partner James Wilby, he retained his 100-meter title in the final.
He won the gold for the third time in the 50-meter breaststroke, completing the triple-double at the World Championships. He also won a bronze in the 4 / 100-meter mixed medley relay with Davies, Guy and Anderson. Together with Greenbank, Guy, and Scott, Peaty made this his most productive world championships after winning his third gold in the 4/100 meter medley relay. He helped the team finish first in 3 minutes, 28.10 seconds to beat the United States in European record time. This is the British team’s first gold win in this Championship event.
