Baraza la Mitihani la Taifa (NECTA) limetangaza matokeo ya kidato cha nne mwaka 2016 ambapo umefaulu wa jumla umeongezeka kwa 2.56% kutoka 67.53% mwaka 2015 hadi 70.09% mwaka 2016.

Katibu Mtendaji wa barza hilo, Dkt Charles Msonde amesema kati ya wanafunzi 408,372 waliofanya mtihani, jumla ya wanafunzi 277,283 wamefaulu, wakiwemo wasichana 135,859 sawa na asilimia 67.06 na wavulana 141,424 sawa na asilimia 73.26.

The objectives of CSEE

The objectives of this examination are to assess students’ skills and knowledge achieved in different subjects at secondary school. Also to weigh the extent to which the student can use the skills gained to meet the social, political, economic and technological challenges for the individual and the national development at large; to identify students with the capacity to continue learning to the advanced secondary school level and other learning institutions. The holder of the CSEE qualification is expected to be able to apply skills of knowledge, comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis and evaluation in a broad range of activities.

Eligibility of Candidates who Seats for CSEE

Category: Matokeo ya Kidato Cha Nne

Any students who have completed four years of secondary education at both government and non-government registered schools and passed form two secondary education examination or Qualifying Test. Also, repeaters of the same examination who registered themselves as private candidates.

CSEE Examined Subjects/Courses

The core and compulsory subjects that a candidate is registered to sit for CSEE are:

  1. Civics,
  2. History,
  3. Geography,
  4. Kiswahili,
  5. English Language,
  6. Biology and
  7. Basic Mathematics.

Candidate may also sit for additional two subjects chosen from natural science subjects which are:

  1. Physics and Chemistry or
  2. Business subjects which are:
    1. Commerce and Book Keeping;
    2. Home economic subjects which are Food and Nutrition and Textile and Dress Making or
  3. Technical subjects which are:
    1. Building Construction,
    2. Architectural Draughting,
    3. Surveying,
    4. Carpentry and Joinery,
    5. Brickwork and Masonry,
    6. Painting and Sign Writing, Plumbing,
    7. Electrical Installation,
    8. Electrical Engineering Science,
    9. Radio and Television Servicing,
    10. Electrical Draughting,
    11. Refrigeration and air conditioning,
    12. Plant and Equipment Maintenance,
    13. Workshop Technology,
    14. Motor Vehicle Mechanics,
    15. Welding and Metal Fabrication,
    16. Fitting and Turning,
    17. Auto Electric,
    18. Mechanical Draughting and Foundry and Blacksmith and
  4. one optional subject among the following:
    1. Bible Knowledge,
    2. Elimu ya Dini ya Kiislamu,
    3. Fine Art,
    4. Music,
    5. Physical Education,
    6. French Language,
    7. Literature in English,
    8. Arabic Language,
    9. Agricultural Science,
    10. Information and Computer Studies and Additional Mathematics.

No candidate for the CSEE shall register for more than ten subjects at one sitting.
