The series has two protagonists: witty “Thirty-something” mother Lorelai Gilmore and her intellectual teenage daughter Rory. Over the years, Lorelai and Rory develop a very close relationship, living like best friends rather than as typical mother-daughter.
In the pilot episode, she is forced to go to them for financial aid after Rory is admitted to Chilton Preparatory School because she cannot afford the tuition fees. The romantic relationships of the protagonists are another key feature; throughout the series, Lorelai has a “Will-they-won’t-they” dynamic with her friend, local diner owner Luke Danes, while also harboring unresolved feelings for Rory’s father, Christopher.
Rory’s romantic journey throughout the show is based on the adolescent experiences of first-loves, flings, crushes, and college dates. While Rory has three committed boyfriends over the course of the show – local new-kid Dean Forrester; mysterious, well-read bad boy Jess Mariano; and wealthy, charismatic Logan Huntzberger-she also has brief, romantically charged relationships with men whose love is unrequited: fellow Chilton student Tristan Dugray and Rory’s only “Guy-bestie” at Yale, Marty.
Along with series-long and season-long arcs, Gilmore Girls is also episodic in nature, with mini-plots within each episode – such as town festivals, issues at Lorelai’s inn, or school projects of Rory’s.

Emily has a wife and son living in Canada and was a university lecturer in cellular biology. Being homosexual is punishable by death in Gilead, and while most intellectuals are worked to their deaths in the Colonies or executed, Emily, as “Ofglen“, was spared and later converted into a Handmaid, due to her having “two viable ovaries”. She was later captured and cruelly punished as a “gender traitor” for her lesbian relationship with a Martha, and is sent to another household where she becomes “Ofsteven”.
She is involved with a resistance movement called “Mayday”. She was in the process of being worked to death in the toxic fields of the Colonies until the attack on the Red Center had her, Janine, and several others returned to Gilead to resume service as handmaids.
After attacking Aunt Lydia at the Lawrence household, she as “Ofjoseph” fears execution, until Commander Lawrence sends her away in a truck with the baby Nichole, whom June hands to her before ditching them to free her other daughter Hannah. Both Emily and Nichole manage to flee to Canada, where she is soon reunited with her wife and son.

Alexis Bledel Interview: ‘Gilmore Girls’ Revival Rory’s Ending
Source: elitedaily.com
Warning: If you managed to avoid “Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life” spoilers for this long, I am truly impressed. Maybe don’t read this article if you want to keep that streak alive.
Turns out you weren’t the only one throwing stuff at your screen when those final four “Gilmore Girls” words were uttered.
In fact, 35-year-old actress Alexis Bledel also had a hard time accepting that her character Rory ended things on a very pregnant note.
OK, she probably didn’t actually throw things, but she did say at Deadline’s Emmy Contender panel on Sunday morning that Rory’s ending was “hard for [her] to digest.”
When asked if she felt satisfied with the twist ending, Bledel said,
It certainly wasn’t the ending I was expecting. I told Amy that I hoped Rory would end on a high note. After all her hard work, I wanted to see her succeed and be thriving. So it was a hard thing for me to digest. I was hoping that we would see that she had lived an interesting life and had been fulfilled up until this point where her grandfather dies and [she] comes back home.
Oof. Me too, Alexis, me too.
As fans know, Rory hadn’t really been living that “fulfilled life” Bledel was hoping for. Instead, she wrote one Atlantic article in 10 years and hadn’t really done much since.
But Bledel went on to say she trusted showrunner Amy Sherman-Palladino’s decisions.
Bledel said,
But, because I know Amy after all these years, I knew it was her true intention and it was something that satisfied her as a writer because she knew the reaction she was going to get from the audience… So I trusted her.
Bledel’s on-screen mom, Lauren Graham, had a slightly less diplomatic reaction to those last four words.
“It was a complete surprise to me,” Graham said. “That’s not an ending, that’s a cliffhanger!”
Yeah, I’m with OG Lorelai on this one.
So, are they gonna resolve that cliffhanger with a second season or nah?
C’mon, I need like a thousand times more Jess and a million times more Sookie. (No shade to Rachael Ray, but it just isn’t the same.)
