Holly joined the WFLA-TV Storm Team 8 as a meteorologist in June 2019. The weather was natural to Amanda experiencing childhood in Florida and being outside. She encountered the 2004 and 2005 tropical storm seasons in Sarasota, which were unnerving and motivating simultaneously. This filled her enthusiasm for following the weather and figuring out how it functioned as she grew up.
The best class she has ever taken was a field course in tempest pursuing. She pursued tornadoes for 10 days in the Great Plains and saw three tornadoes. One of which was named an EF-2 was a large portion of a mile wide and passed only an eighth of a mile before her. Amanda specified, While the intensity of tornadoes is startling, the science behind their arrangement is hypnotizing.
Getting to watch the tempests create and develop was astounding enough however observing the tornadoes on the ground was exceptional. The course was an important encounter that she can utilize when forecasting for the remainder of her career.
