Amanda Redman Scar On Arm and Burns
Amanda’s upper left arm is scarred from burns she got when she was 15 months old during a Boxing Day trip to her grandmother’s house when she tipped boiling soup over herself. Her burns were so severe that there were fears she would die and she remained in hospital until the age of five, receiving multiple medical treatments and skin grafts.
Her parents had to move house to Salisbury when she was transferred to a hospital that specialized in reconstruction. Due to the surgeon’s skills, she was left with only one scar on her arm. Because of her burn, she is the patron of Children’s Burns Trust (CBT), a charity organization that raises awareness of the dangers of hot water in the home.
The campaign Hot Water Burns Like Fire has been set up by the Bathroom Manufacturers Association with the support of the CBT and aims to enlighten parents on the risks not just from boiling kettles or saucepans but ordinary tap water in baths, sinks, and showers.

Amanda Redman Plastic Surgery
Amanda Redman Facelift
After the death of her mother and close friend, she said that she became ‘bigger than I’ve ever been in my life’. Due to this, she turned to botox and fillers. ‘There’s not a woman alive who wouldn’t like to be 18 again; don’t let anyone fool you into thinking otherwise.
I’ve had botox and fillers in the past, but then I stopped. I might do it again, or have a facelift – I never say never about anything. At the moment, though, I don’t feel the need. I’m alright with myself. In a year’s time, I might not be.’
Although Amanda admits she would love to have a breast reduction (‘They’re far too big’) she has no interest in cosmetic surgery because she says, ‘Trying to change your appearance speaks of sadness in here [she pats her heart]. And I will never have surgery on my boobs because my husband is dead against it.’
Amanda once said in an interview that she would love to have a boob job but her husband is against it. “They’re too big and they’ve got bigger during the menopause, but my husband is happy with them. I want a boob job, but he says he’d divorce me. Plastic surgery is like anything, it needs to be done in moderation. If I got to the point where looking in the mirror depressed me, then I think, ‘Yeah, why not?’.”

Amanda played the role of Detective Superintendent Sandra Pullman in the BBC1 police drama New Tricks. In August 2012 she revealed that she was leaving the show.
“I love New Tricks and I have loved playing Sandra – I’ve got some gritty plotlines – but I feel I have to try something new. And that is why I’ve decided I am going to film a further eight episodes and then I’ll leave. The time’s come. After a while, there is a danger of things getting stale.”
