Alessia Cara Biography
Alessia Cara born Alessia Caracciolo is a Canadian singer and songwriter born July 11, 1996 in Brampton, Ontario Canada. She is an R&B and Blue Pop with strong undertones of Jazz. Caracciolo attended Cardinal Ambrozic Catholic Secondary School.
Cara began playing guitar at an early age of 10 and taught herself how to play various songs. At the age of 14 she began her own YouTube channel where she posted covers of songs that she performed.
Alessia Cara Music Career
She released her debut single, “Here” through Def Jam ,in April 2015 which was a sleeper hit and reached the top 5 in the United States and the top 20 in Canada. The song was described as, “a song for everyone who secretly hates parties” by MTV. On May 5, 2015, the song was chosen as the “can’t-miss” track by Spin, as well as being listed as a “must hear song” by Cosmopolitan.
The song was also named one of the best Canadian songs of April by Complex and included on Billboard’s “20 Pop Songs You Need For Your Summer Playlist” in June 2015. It was later ranked at number 21 on its year-end list of the 50 best songs of 2015 by Rolling Stone. She made her first-televised debut performing her single ,in July 29, 2015,”Here” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The song received a nomination for the “Original Song” at the Streamy Award.
On November 13, 2015, she released her debut album Know-It-All. The album was a big commercial hit and the Recording Industry Association of America awarded the album Gold accreditation in May 2016. In 2016 her music video release ‘Wild Things’ was nominated for the best Pop video by MTV Video Music Awards. She was also short-listed for the BBC Music Sound of… award for 2016 and finished as the runner-up.

On November 3, 2016, the music video for Cara’s single “How Far I’ll Go”, from the Disney film Moana, was released. The song was written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, produced by Oak Felder and the video was directed by Aya Tanimura. Cara released a music video for “Seventeen” in December 2016. In 2017, she collaborated with producer Zedd to create the single “Stay”, which has since reached number 7 on the Billboard Hot 100, making it her third single to reach the top 10.

She was awarded as Breakthrough Artist of the Year at the 2016 Juno Awards and Radio Disney Music Award in 2017,Juno Award for pop Album of the Yearin 2017, as well as MuchMusic Video Award for Best new canadian Artist.
Alessia Cara Grammy
She won the Grammy award for Best New Artist on January 28, 2018. She became the first Canadian artiste to win Grammy in this category. Alessia posted about her win on Twitter, saying, “I’ll never quite process it but thank u for ur continuous love and support and belief in me.”

She is a relationship with Kevin Garrett who is a Brooklyn based singer, songwriter and producer. She revealed details about their relationship at the Juno Award in the backstage chit-chat session. The two did a joint concert tour in 2016 and has already released some cover songs together online. Their happy relationship is quite evident on her Instagram account too.

Alessia Cara Know It All
Know-It-All is the debut studio album by Alessia Cara released on November 13, 2015 through Def Jam. It is followed the release of her debut extended play (EP) Four Pink Walls (2015), which Cara regarded as a preview of the album. It contains the five original songs from Four Pink Walls as well as five new songs recording for the album.
