From 1996 to 1997, Milgram clerked for United States District Court Judge Anne E. Thompson in Trenton. Later in 1997, she began her career as an Assistant District Attorney in the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office.
She went on to work in the Criminal Section of the Civil Rights Division, United States Department of Justice, where she served as the Special Litigation Counsel for Human Trafficking and led the Department’s human trafficking prosecutions.
