Annika Sörenstam PGA Tour
In 2003, Sörenstam played in the Bank of America Colonial tournament to become the first woman to play in a PGA Tour event since 1945. The PGA Tour was the organizer of professional golf tours in the United States and North America.
It classifies most of the events on the flagship annual series of tournaments also known as the PGA Tour, as well as PGA Tour Champions (age 50 and older) and the Korn Ferry Tour (for professional players who have not yet eligible to play on the PGA Tour), as well as PGA Tour Canada, PGA Tour Latinoamérica, and PGA Tour China.
The PGA Tour is a nonprofit association headquartered in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, a suburb southeast of Jacksonville. Initially founded by the Professional Golfers’ Association of America, it was spun off in December 1968 into a separate organization for tour players, as resistance to club professionals, the focal members of today’s PGA of America.
Initially the “Tournament Players Division”, it adopted the name “PGA Tour” in 1975 and runs most of the week-to-week professional golf events on the tournament known as the PGA Tour, including The Players Championship, hosted at TPC Sawgrass; the FedEx Cup, with its finale at The Tour Championship at East Lake Golf Club; and the biennial Presidents Cup.
The remaining events on the PGA Tour are run by various institutions, as are the U.S.-based LPGA Tour for women and other men’s and women’s professional tours around the world.

She operated as a personal helper at the Swedish PGA and contested on the Swedish Golf Tour while waiting to enter college in Sweden, winning three events in 1990/1991.
The ANNIKA Academy at Ginn Reunion Resort in Reunion, Florida, opened in April 2007. In the academy, her coach Henri Reis acted as head instructor, and her sister Charlotta was an instructor. Also, her trainer Kai Fusser concentrates on overall fitness training.
Annika Sörenstam Junior Golf
The Sörenstam family started playing golf at Viksjö Golf Club in Jakobsberg, north of Stockholm, and thereafter switched to nearby Bro-Bålsta Golf Club, which opened in 1980, originally with a 9-hole course. At the age of 12, she shared her first set of golf clubs with her sister. Annika got the odd-numbered clubs and Charlotta the even – and acquired her first handicap of 54.
At the European Tour tournament Scandinavian Enterprise Open in Stockholm in July 1986, she attempted to be a volunteer caddie and was asked to stand in a line with all the other candidates. When all-male enlisted caddies eventually had been selected by the tournament professionals, three teenage girls were left without a bag yet. It was Annika, Charlotta and Fanny Sunesson.
However, she was so shy as a junior, she used to intentionally three-putt at the end of a tournament to evade giving the victory speech. The coaches glimpsed and at the next tournament, both the winner and the runner-up had to give a speech. Sörenstam chose that if she were going to have to face the crowd anyway she might as well win and the intended misses stopped.
