Jungkook Biography
Jungkook, born Jeon Jung-Kook, is a singer, songwriter and record producer from South Korea. He is part of the boy band BTS and is the band’s main vocalist.
He has six songs accredited to him by the Korea Music Copyright Association this is due to his songwriting.

Jungkook Family
He was born in the metropolitan city of Busan in South Korea. His family is made up of his parents and his elder brother. His brother is two years older than him.

Jungkook Career
He made his BTS debut with the release of the single ‘2 Cool 4 Skool’. This was on the 12th of June in 2013.
He released two solo tracks under BTS. His first was the pop track ‘Begin’ on the 2016 Wings album. The song is about moving to Seoul to become an idol and meeting up with BTS members for the first time. The second was future bass track, Euphoria. Originally, it was released as part of the BTS short film called ‘Euphoria: Theme of Love Yourself 起 Wonder’. Later it was on Love Yourself: Answer. The single, Euphoria, peaked at number five on the Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart. The song spent 13 weeks on the Gaon Digital Chart.
He has been credited as the main producer of some BTS songs like ‘Love is Not Over’ and ‘Magic Shop’. Together with the group, he was ordained with the fifth-class Hwagwan Order of Cultural Merit by the President of South Korea. This was on the 25th of October in 2018.
He took part in the ‘One Dream, One Korea’ campaign and its corresponding song which was a collaboration between multiple Korean artists in memory of the Korean War. This was in September of 2015. The aforementioned song was released on the 24th of September. It was presented at the One K Concert in Seoul on the 15th of October.
He has released various covers of songs from artists like Adam Levine, Justin Bieber, David Guetta, and Tori Kelly. He has also done covers by Korean artists like Lee Hi, Zion T, and Roy Kim.
He has made several appearances in shows such as the pilot episode of Flower Crew and Celebrity Bromance.
In addition, he appeared in the singing competition show, King of the Mask Singer. He appeared under the name ‘Fencing Man’ and he competed in the 71st and 72nd episodes. He took part in the December of 2016 KBS Song Festival. Here he interpreted the song ‘I’m a Butterfly’ together with artists forming the ‘K-Pop 97 Line’.
He was invited by Korean music channel, Mnet, to be an honorary director for a BTS comeback show. This was in 2018 and the show was to celebrate the release of the album Love Yourself: Tear. This was his first time directing in an official capacity. He performed ‘We Don’t Talk Anymore’ with Charlie Puth on the 6th of November in 2018. This was during the first MBC Plus X Genie Music Awards.
He was ranked the 20th most preferred idol of the year in a 2016 survey by Gallup Korea. In the very same survey, he came in at 18th the following year. He placed first for 10 weeks in a row in Hi China magazine. This was in 2018 and the magazine was ranking the most beloved celebrities in China.
He broke the record of most real-time viewers on the Korean streaming service, V Live. This was in October of 2018 and the video was of a solo live broadcast that was streamed by more than 3.7 million viewers worldwide.
In December a video of him singing in the studio was revealed to be the most retweeted tweet in South Korea that year. Gallup Korea’s 2018 survey ranked him at the 8th most preferred idol of the year.
He helped in the selling out of two months supply and raise in stock value by more than 11% a day of the fabric softener, Downy. This was after his posting in fancafe about his use of the brand in January of 2019.
