Aslay Ishaka Nassoro famously known as Aslay is a Tanzanian Bongo Flava and RnB musician. His hit songs and attracting lyrics have captured the attention of many not only in Tanzania but also in East Africa. He was once in the Tanzanian boyband Yamoto band before going solo.

Aslay Girlfriend|Children.

The artist introduced her girlfriend Tessy Chocolate to his fans in 2016. Tessy had a tattoo of his name on her had. The two welcomed their daughter together in 2016. She was named Moza after Aslay’s late mother. Sadly, their love did not last as the two broke up in 2018 citing irreconcilable differences. He said they mutually agreed to end their relationship and raise their daughter together. The singer has not introduced another lady to his fans yet and we can assume he is single and ready to focus on his music and raising his daughter. He recently confessed to having sired another child with a Kenyan lady during an interview making him a father of two.

Aslay Music

The Nibebe hitmaker came into the limelight after releasing his hit song Naenda Kusema back in 2011. The song paved his way into the Tanzanian music industry as a Bongo Flava artist. Together with Mbosso, Beka Flavour, Enock Bella and him, they formed Yamoto Band in 2013. As a band, they took over the East Africa Music industry with great hits that kept them on top of charts all over. The boyband members began having issues among themselves and they agreed to follow their solo careers in late 2017.

The management of the band said it was somehow challenging to manage the members because others were more creative than the rest having a feeling that they were giving more to the band than the others. Aslay determined to further his musical career begun releasing singles that were loved by his fans. He has been releasing hit after hit and we just cannot get enough of him.

Aslay & Yamoto Band.

The Yamoto band was a musical band with a group of four youths from Tanzania. The band was formed around 2014 and they split in early 2019. The band consisted of Aslay, Marombosso, Beka, and Enock Bella. They came with a bang in the Tanzanian music industry releasing hits such as Ya Moto, Cheza Kwa Madoido, and Mama which made them known in the East Africa Region and the whole of Africa at large.

The band’s name begun as Mkubwa na Wanawe Outfit before rebranding to Yamoto. Their split shocked many as they were doing so well producing hits after hits. Aslay who was the backbone of Yamoto was mostly blamed for the band’s split by his fellow members. They said that the Pusha hitmaker recorded a song without agreeing with his other members and was in the plan of releasing it as a solo artist.

Dogo Aslay could soon dethrone Diamond as Tanzania’s biggest music star

Isihaka Nassoro, alias Dogo Aslay is one of the Yamoto members whose star has continued to shine even after the band broke up. The other of course is Mbosso who is under the wings of Diamond Platunumz. Dogo AslayHowever, it does not really come as a surprise that Aslay is still excelling in music. Before Yamoto was formed in 2013, the 24-year-old singer already had a number one single dubbed Naenda Kusema. The song was released in 2011. After the band broke up, Aslay was rumored to be joining Wasafi Records but that didn’t materialize. However, that didn’t affect his career as a solo artist as it picked up almost immediately. He has several songs to his name including; Hautegeki, Mario, Anankomoa, Kwa Raha, Tattoo, Hauna, Pusha, Baby, Likizo, Nibebe, Usitie Doa, Angekuona, Subalkheri Mpenziand Natamba. However, my all-time favorite is Muhudumu.

This song always plays in my head when I am at a club. One day I’ll gather the courage to tell the waiter, “Muhudumu ongeza glass” in Aslay’s voice. I digress. A few days ago, Aslay dropped yet another single dubbed Nyang’anyang’a and, as expected, the song is performing well on the charts. I love the song. Everything was executed well. The beat is very catchy, the visual is also good. What else do you expect when Justin Campos is the video director? Nothing but class! At this point, I’d dare say that Dogo Aslay could soon dethrone Diamond Platunumz as Tanzania’s best singer. Watch Nyang’anyang’a below and tell us what you think.
