Sam Atwell Biograpthy
Sam Atwell is an Australian television and movie actor perhaps best known for his role as Kane Phillips in the soap opera Home and Away. He was born on 6th April 1979 in Nambour, Queensland. Sam Atwell and his family lived in Indonesia for 6 years before returning to Queensland where he grew up in Brisbane.
Sam has always had a passion for acting and pursued speech and drama courses throughout school. Atwell did some work with Channel 7 at the end of primary school and Children’s TV for ‘UNICEF’ and also completed a short film made for television. In year 11, with the help of teachers and other students, he formed a school-sponsored theatre company that produced plays such as Property of the Clan, All Stops Out and Dags.
Passionate about acting from a young age, Sam Atwell completed The Queensland University of Technology acting program in 1999. After that he moved to Sydney and secured work in television, film and theatre. Most notably, playing Kane Phillips, on Home and Away.
After making some short films and directing various theatre projects, Sam completed an internship with Channel Seven and became one of the resident directors on, Home And Away. From here he spring boarded into the script department and worked as a writer, story liner and script editor.
