Belvin Perry Law Career
Perry began his law career in 1977 with the Office of the State Attorney serving as a Trial Attorney. He climbed up the ladder with the State Attorney’s Office. He concluded his service with the prosecutor’s office as Chief Assistant State Attorney in 1989. He later became the first African-American to be elected to the circuit bench of the Ninth Circuit in January 1989 without first being appointed.
Belvin has served as a judge for over two decades and has served as an Administrative Judge in Osceola County. He served nine terms Chief Judge of the Ninth Judicial Circuit. He has served on the Supreme Court Criminal Court Steering Committee; Supreme Court Local Rule Advisory Committee; Florida Supreme Court Commission on Fairness – Guardianship Subcommittee among others.
