Currently, he serves as a color commentator and analyst for Bally Sports Midwest. Thompson played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Royals from 2005 to 2010.

Thompson was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 16th round of the 2002 amateur draft out of Dixie State College of Utah. He holds the AA single-season scoreless innings streak. He also made his major league debut on May 8, 2005, and in his rookie season, Brad had 40 appearances and a 2.95 ERA in 55 innings pitched.

Born on January 31, 1982, in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States, Thompson attended and graduated from Cimarron Memorial High in Las Vegas in 2000. He acquired his associate of science degree from Dixie State College in St. George, Utah, and played in the Junior College World Series and was named to the JC World Series All-Tournament team.

Thompson had his #17 jersey retired by Dixie State along with fellow alum Brandon Lyon on October 30, 2009.

In 2008, he also pitched 6.2 scoreless innings and picked up the win in his first start. He was later optioned to Memphis on April 23, 2008, then released on November 4, 2009.

• He also signed with the Kansas City Royals for the 2010 season but was released on June 3 when he decided to become a free agent after he was set for assignment. He then signed with the Houston Astros but was released in August.

• Previously, Thompson co-hosted The Fast Lane, a sports radio show in St. Louis, on 101 ESPN with Jamie Rivers and Anthony Stalter, and currently performs as a color commentator and analyst for Bally Sports Midwest.
