Career
In 1985, she began her career at WKBW-TV as a part-time sports producer under the guidance of sports director Rick Azar. Her role eventually transitioned to an on-camera position, where she reported on the Buffalo Sabres. Notably, during her time at Channel 7, Brenon broke the story about Clint Malarchuk’s obsessive–compulsive disorder.
In the late 1990s/2000s, Brenon briefly joined WNSA and the EMPIRE Sports network. Her involvement extended to national coverage, working as an interviewer for NBC’s NHL All-Star Game in 1994 and later contributing to the NHL on ABC and ESPN National Hockey Night. In 1995, she ventured into writing for The Boston Globe and took on a role as one of six rotating anchors for NewSport’s Scoreboard Central.
NESN hired Brenon in September 1995 to host the network’s Boston Bruins telecasts, where she also contributed feature pieces for its Front Row program. Despite being fired by NESN on July 31, 1997, Brenon returned to her position in September following a ruling by the United States Department of Labor, which ordered the network to rehire her with back pay under the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993. Her role as a between-periods reporter was eliminated for the 1998–99 Bruins season, leading to her departure.
