Bryan Habana Career
Habana started his professional career signing for the Golden Lions and burst onto the international scene against England in 2004, aged 21, scoring a try on his debut with his first touch of the ball. Since then he has been a pivotal player in the Springbok set-up and has written himself into the rugby history book as one of the best wings South Africa has ever seen.
Habana cemented his place among the sport’s elite with a series of outstanding displays during South Africa’s 2007 Rugby World Cup triumph, his eight tries equaling the record set by All Blacks player Jonah Lomu in 1999. Later that same year he was named the IRB Player of the Year.
In his provincial and club career, Habana has played a crucial role in securing titles for the Blue Bulls, Western Province, and his current club Toulon. Most recently he returned to South African Sevens team, The Blitzbokke, to aid them in their campaign in the run-up to the 2016 Rio Olympics, and represented the Springboks in the 2016 Rugby Championship.
In his 13 years at the international level, Habana has been a prolific try-scorer, with more tries than any other Springbok in history, and the second most international try-scorer of all time.
