Buti Manamela born as Buti Kgwaridi Manamela is a South African politician and is currently serving as the Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Training, having previously served as the Deputy Minister for Planning and Monitoring in the Presidency since 26 May 2014.
Buti attended a school named PHAGAMENG in South Africa. Later he joined Shwane Prior to this, College Mamelodi Campus in 1998 and studied Electronics as his major subject. With reference to his personal Facebook profile, the South African politician attended the Wits – University of the Witwatersrand.
Prior to this, he finished an Electronic Engineering Honors Program in Public Administration in 2008; he went to different Labor Courses with DHS ELA from 2002 to 2003; he got a National Certificate, N5 somewhere in the range of 1998 and 2001); and a National Senior Certificate in 1997.

Since 1993 he has been in politics as a student and youth leader of COSAS and the ANCYL. He actively participated in the launch of SASCO at the college, and was later elected its Provincial Chairperson and then Deputy President in 2000.

In 2001 he worked as an Organiser for the South African Catering, Commercial and Allied Workers’ Union (SACCAWU) and was responsible for; recruitment, negotiations, representation of workers and political induction of Shop-Stewards.
