In 2007, Hudson-Odoi joined Chelsea and in August 2016 made his under-18 debut. Odoi went on to net eight times in twenty-five appearances in his debut campaign, assisting the under-18’s to their eight FA Youth Cup triumph. Following this, He was promoted to the under-23 side at the age of sixteen and went on to score four times in three games during their EFL Trophy campaign, including a double in their 2–2 draw with League One side Plymouth Argyle.
Hudson-Odoi first appeared in Chelsea’s first-team matchday squad in their EFL Cup tie against Bournemouth on 20 December 2017, remaining as an unused substitute in the 2–1 victory. Hudson-Odoi made his first-team debut in the FA Cup match against Newcastle United on 28 January 2018. He came off the bench in the 81st minute, replacing Pedro in a 3–0 home victory. Odoi’s Premier League debut came as a substitute on 31 January in a 3–0 home loss to Bournemouth.
Following Odoi’s impressive 2018–2019 pre-season under the newly appointed Maurizio Sarri, the Italian announced that Hudson-Odoi would stay with the Chelsea first-team squad for the forthcoming campaign. due to this, Hudson-Odoi was handed the number 20 jersey. Hudson-Odoi made his first start for the club during their FA Community Shield defeat to Manchester City on 5 August 2018, featuring for 59 minutes in the 2–0 loss. In his first Europa League start against PAOK, on 29 November 2018, he scored his first goal for the senior team, which went on to win 4–0 at Stamford Bridge .
In Chelsea’s FA Cup third-round opener against Nottingham Forest on 5 January 2019, he assisted both of Álvaro Morata’s goals in a 2-0 win. During the January transfer window Hudson-Odoi was reportedly the subject of multiple transfer bids from Bayern Munich, with Chelsea’s assistant manager Gianfranco Zola and Bayern’s director of sport Hasan Salihamidzic both confirming the interest. Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri criticised Bayern Munich’s public conduct. It was announced on 27 January 2019 that Hudson-Odoi had put in an official transfer request. However, that same day, he was selected for Chelsea’s next match, a home tie in the FA Cup against Sheffield Wednesday. Hudson-Odoi played 90 minutes, scoring in a 3–0 win.
Eligible for both England and Ghana, Odoi has represented England at every age group from under-16 to under-19 level. Hudson-Odoi was included in the squad for the 2017 UEFA European Under-17 Championship in April 2017. Hudson-Odoi scored in the semi-final against Turkey. He also scored in the final with England eventually losing to Spain on a penalty shoot-out. His performances led to him being included in the team of the tournament. During England’s 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup campaign, Hudson-Odoi was also an influential figure, netting once in seven appearances and featuring for the entire 90 minutes during their 5–2 final victory over Spain.
Hudson-Odoi scored for England under-18 in a match against Belarus in March 2018. He also scored for the England under-19 team against Belgium in September 2018.

Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi has handed in a transfer request as he seeks a move away from Stamford Bridge in order to get more playing time.
The 18-year-old is yet to start a Premier League game at Chelsea and has been the subject of a £35m bid from Bayern Munich.
Chelsea have been in talks with Hudson-Odoi, who has 18 months left on his contract, and want him to stay.
But he has only made five Chelsea starts and 14 appearances overall.
There have been reports Hudson-Odoi has been offered a new deal worth up to £80,000 a week, but playing time is understood to be the most important issue for the teenager, who has been at the club since he was eight.
Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has been critical of Bayern after they went on the record about wanting to land the player.
Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic said the German club “really want to sign him”.
But during this transfer window, Chelsea have paid £58m to Borussia Dortmund for 20-year-old forward Christian Pulisic, who will join them next season.
And on Wednesday, Sarri recruited 31-year-old Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain on loan for the remainder of the season with an option to buy him for £31.3m.
