Carmina Topacio Facts

Carmina was inspired by Marie Digby in starting her very own “YouTube Career”. In fact, the first video that she posted on her YT channel was her cover of Marie Digby’s hit, Say It Again. She became a member and created her

YouTube account back in 2008 (Oct. 1) and as of this moment of writing (almost 2 years had passed), she now has 15k+ subscribers 600k+ channel views, over 4 million total upload views, and a legion of addicted, loyal, and extremely supportive fans. So addicted that they’ve turned the comment box on Carmina’s YT channel into a fans chatroom!

Carmina is a multi-talented gal. She can sing, dance, play the guitar, piano / keyboards, compose songs.

Her grandfather was the one who taught her to play the guitar. She started playing when she was 13 years old, and the first song she learned to play was Everywhere by Michelle Branch – the same artist who influenced her.

She was a snare drum player and the only girl member of the De La Salle University PEP Squad drumline. According to her Formspring, she quit the group due to their daily practice, which is the cause of her late-night homecomings, and that her parents weren’t too happy about her being part of the PEP Squad.

Carmina’s ambition in life is to be amusician and/or a doctor.

Her name originated from her parents… CAR from her father’s name, Carlo, MIN from her mother’s name, Jasmin, An aspiring music artist, her take on music was, “[I love music. I love the way it can move people]. And I also love the way a song has the power to change everything. How a song can speak to you and change the way you view things. [I want to be able to write music like that].”

Carmina admitted that she’s mahiyain or shy when it comes to performing in public places. She tends to perform at family gatherings though, but only to the extent when she’s being forced to do so, or (*ahem) drunk!

Here’s an interesting Carmina Topacio trivia…

Carmina became one of the finalists for the Meg Face of the Year search by Meg Magazine that was held back in 2008.

Carmina thinks tattoos are cool! Although she’s satisfied being a girl, she sometimes wonders what it’s like to be a hunky badass guy with a tattoo. (*In that case, he’ll be the hottest badass guy around.) She had her first kiss when she was 15 (or 16) years old.

Started drinking beer when she was in her junior year in high school. Her favorite beer is Red Horse.

Carmina is against abortion. On the other hand, she’s okay with same-sex marriage. Her take on faith is that “[You have to believe in something]. I believe that faith is what keeps us alive… and sane.”

Carmina isn’t really fond of horror movies, admitting that she gets scared easily.

Some of her favorite movies are My Sassy Girl (American Version), The Girl Next Door, and The Godfather.

A huge fan of the band Avenged Sevenfold, her favorite member is Zacky Vengeance.

Carmina Topacio even owns a Black and Gold Zacky Vengeance “Blade” Schecter Guitar. All in all, Carmina has seven guitars.

Her Taylor Acoustic Guitar is her favorite, and it’s what she usually uses for her videos.

Aside from guitar and piano, she also has the passion of playing the violin.

Her favorite instrumental piano piece is The Godfather Theme. While Scarified and Cliffs of Dover are among her favorites on guitar.

Carmina admittingly said that she’s not the athletic or sporty type of girl. Rather (and apparently), she’s more of a music buff.

She started recording herself singing her favorite songs when she was 11 or 12 years old (long before she started posting videos on YouTube). She even made her very own CD out of it!Carmina confessed, “Nag-f-feeling recording artist ako… natatawa ako when I remember.”

She said, “It’s always been a dream of mine to have my own album.”

Carms prefers rockstars over “blingy” guys; semi-rugged than totally rugged; nice guys than jerks; Jun Pyo over Ji Hoo. LOL

She attended Saint Pedro Poveda

College and Colegio San Agustin

(CSA) in her high school years.

According to her, education is

boring but necessary.

Carmina admitted that she’s more of a “night” person.

Meaning, she’s fond of staying up late.

Her Filipino celebrity crushes are: Ding Dong Dantes, Enchong Dee, Gerald Anderson, and Coco Martin. Carmina refuses to date a Jejemon,

go on a blind date, join any reality TV or talent contest, and be immortal; just to name a few. She prefers Globe over Sun and Smart.

Carmina owns several gaming consoles and gadgets such as Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS, Playstation Portable (PSP), Playstation 2, Danger Sidekick 2008, a 13-inch MacBook laptop and of course, an iPod.

She said, “I don’t think that I am a tech-obsessed geek. But I am quite obsessed with playing video games. You might find it a little dorky, but I play DOTA.” (Source: Technogra.ph)

According to one of her Facebook posts, she sold some of her gadgets to buy an iPhone4. Unfortunately, the iPhone was stolen from her while she’s in an internet cafe playing DOTA. (*One lucky thief!)

Every Final Fantasy VIII Fan would find this interesting.

What’s more interesting is that in the game Final Fantasy VIII, Rinoa’s mother, Julia Heartilly, is a singer / pianist. Carmina must have had a game intervention.

Speaking of Final Fantasy, Carms is also fond of Cosplay. She digs playing video games such as Diablo 2 (her favorite character is Amazon), Ragnarok, Call of Duty, and DOTA (her favorite DOTA Heroes are Spectre and Razor).

When asked about her interest in acting, her response was “Naaahhh…. not really my thing. :p”

Believe it or not, Carmina likes to eat street food. Some of her favorites are Fishball, Kwek-Kwek, and Pork Siomai.

From her radio interview, on the question “Are you pure Filipina?”,she said she has a little bit of Chinese blood.

Carms’ favorite YouTube personality is a comedian vlogger under the username, Nigahiga.

Carmina Topacio is the eldest among her two siblings. Basing on one of her photos, her face is pretty much a resemblance of her mother’s.

The Hollywood artist that Carmina would like to meet is Ryan Reynolds. As a singer, her dream collaboration is to perform with the former member and frontman of the OPM band Rivermaya, Rico Blanco. From her radio interview, she admits, “I love his [Rico Blanco] voice!” Internationally, she likes to collaborate with Jason Wade, the frontman / guitarist of the band Lifehouse.

Two of her original compositions that was posted on her YouTube channel namely, I Don’t Want To Love Another and It’s Always Been You, was co-written by her friend, Justin Domingo.

So what makes this beautiful girl blush?

Carmina Topacio said, “I guess when I do somethingembarassing or when I see my crush.”

When it comes to relationship,

Carmina conveyed, “I take boyfriends [relationship] seriously so I’ll only pick someone that I really like and I know I can commit to… looks are not everything.”

Her 1st boyfriend was Vince Gamad. At present, she’s in a relationship with Timi San Diego.

What attracts Carmina to the opposite sex…

Carmina Topacio said, “I’m attracted to guys who are mysterious and quiet but can carry a conversation. I want the guy to be able toopen up to me and listen to me as well. Dapat may good sense of humor din. He has to be smart and sweet but not the cheesy kind ’cause I hate that.”

In addition to that, she hates liars!
