Chelsea Handler is an American actress, comedian, writer, producer and television host. She was the host for the late-night talk show Chelsea Lately on the E! network from 2007 to 2014, and in January 2016 she released a documentary series, Chelsea Does, on Netflix.

In 2010, she was ranked on the Forbes Celebrity 100 at No. 98. In 2012, Time named her one of the 100 most influential people in the world on their annual Time 100 list.

She was a member of the all-female cast of Oxygen network’s hidden camera reality television series Girls Behaving Badly, which aired from 2002 to 2005. She has also appeared in other shows including My Wife and Kids, The Bernie Mac Show, Weekends at the D.L., and The Practice.

Handler was a correspondent on The Tonight Show, and was also a regular commentator on E! and Scarborough Country. She hosted the first episode of the reality TV show On the Lot, but quit before the second episode was aired.

In April 2006, she started hosting The Chelsea Handler Show on E!, which lasted two seasons. Handler was The View and Red Eye w/ Greg Gutfeld. From August 2, 2007 to September 5, 2008, Handler co-hosted The View.

On August 18, 2010, it was announced that Handler would be the host of the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) and this made her the second woman in the history of the VMAs to be the sole host of the ceremony, after Roseanne Barr, who hosted in 1994. The event took place on September 12, 2010 at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.

In July 2007, she started starring on her own half-hour, late-night comedy series on E! titled Chelsea Lately. The show proved to be a hit by averaging more than a half-million viewers since its premiere and having clips on YouTube with more than one million views. The final episode of the show was aired on August 26, 2014.

In May 2009, Handler hosted the 20th Annual GLAAD Media Awards in San Francisco. In June, she was named as Grand Marshal of the 2009 Los Angeles Pride celebration for her visible and vocal support of equality. In March 2012, she hosted the Human Rights Campaign Gala in Los Angeles.

In 2016, she filmed a documentary series for Netflix called Chelsea Does, which consist of four episodes on marriage, Silicon Valley, racism, and drugs. In October 2017, she announced that the show will be concluding after its second season.

Chelsea Handler Netflix

Chelsea is well known for her weekly Netflix talk show and documentary series Chelsea Does. She released the documentary series, Chelsea Does, on Netflix in January 2016 which consisting of four episodes on marriage, Silicon Valley, racism, and drugs.

She began presenting her new Netflix original comedy talk show Chelsea in May 2016. The first season streamed Wednesday, Thursday and Friday each week; season 2 streams every Friday.

After two seasons, Chelsea announced that her self-titled Netflix series is coming to an end. She said that she will not be returning for another season of Chelsea, her weekly Netflix talk show, as she wishes to focus on activism.

Chelsea Handler owns two new adorable dogs Bert and Bernice. “She was struggling and I couldn’t bear to have her fight anymore,” she explained about having to put Tammy down. “Anyone who doesn’t believe a dog changes your life has never rescued one. I only had 2 years with Tammy, but she made sure I never went to bed once without hearing her little paws mount my stairwell 2 paws at a time. If my door was closed, she slept outside my room like a security guard.”

Chelsea Handler Trump

Chelsea Handler is a frequent opposer of President Donald Trump and his administration’s policies. She targeted his son Donald Trump Jr. on the social media platform (Twitter) to suggest it’d be intriguing to see Trump’s son turn on him.

“I can’t wait for Donald Trump junior to flip on his father,” Handler, tweeted. “That’s going to be awesome.”

Trump Jr. has been a loyal supporter of his father and wasn’t amused by Handler’s remark. In response to Handler’s comment, Trump’s eldest son took to Twitter to criticize her.

“I’d say stick to comedy but you weren’t funny enough to avoid cancellation of your Netflix show,” Trump Jr. tweeted. “Stay away from politics—no reason to suck at two things.”

Trump Jr. dug further by suggesting Handler stand by her previous desire to exit the U.S. following his father being elected to office, tweeting: “Hey Chelsea, now that your show is canceled it’s not too late to make good on your promise. Really no excuse for you to stay anymore.”

Previously, on July 4 2018, Handler apologized to the world for President Donald Trump on social media during Independence Day celebrations.

She twittered to offer her deepest regrets to all the other countries on the planet for Trump. “To every country on the 4th of July. We’re sorry about our president,” she wrote. “He doesn’t reflect all of our views—and we hope you know that the majority of us are ashamed. We will rally each other and come back to the world one step at a time.”

Chelsea Handler says cannabis has changed her life

The state of U.S. politics didn’t drive Chelsea Handler to drink, but it did encourage her to consume cannabis.

“I was re-introduced to cannabis once Trump was elected because alcohol was a little bit too on the nose for me and I already abuse it. So I started to use cannabis again because it was becoming legal in the state of California,” said Handler recently over the phone from London where she was helping to pitch a TV series.

“It changed my life and made things a little more tolerable and a little bit easier. Now with the way they are able to distribute the cannabis and to micro-dose it’s so helpful to so many people. It has opened my eyes to how it can really change lives.”

“I have introduced it to so many people in my life. I just think it is the way forward,” said Handler, who has just begun working on documentary about white privilege for Netflix. “It is a healthy alternative to alcohol especially for a woman over 40. You don’t get the hangovers. You can have a clean living ethos. It has just changed my world so I just wanted to do everything I can to get behind the movement.

“Marijuana can be an additive to your life. It doesn’t have to ruin your life. You don’t have to be blottoed, but it can be a substitute for so many bad things (opioids) that are out there that I just wanted to get involved,” added Handler.

CHELSEA HANDLER SAYS GRAHAM IS ‘BEING BLACKMAILED BY RUSSIA’

Chelsea Handler tweeted that Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham’s response to Christine Blasey Ford’s Senate testimony proves he is “being blackmailed by Russia.”

“.@LindseyGrahamSC is so obviously being blackmailed by Russia. Accusations are different then testimony under oath. From a credible woman. 35 years time is not argument against an assault of a 15-year-old girl. @JeffFlake @SenatorCollins @lisamurkowski,”

Graham said that Blasey Ford’s testimony did nothing to change his mind on Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court.

“She took a polygraph and they didn’t tell us until Sept. 26,” Graham said. “All I can deal with is what’s in front of me. I’ve got a guy who adamantly denies this. Anyone who knows him in a real way say this is not the guy I know. I’ve got Dr. Ford, who can’t tell me the time and the place, and we’ll see what happens.”

“To my Republican colleagues,” he added, “if you can ignore everything in this record, looking at allegation that’s 35 years old, that’s uncertain for time, place, date and no corroboration, if that’s enough for you, God help us as Republicans. Because this happens to us, it never happens to them.”

Graham continued, “I don’t know any more than I knew before. I know that the people who’ve claimed to have been at the party say nothing happened. I don’t know how she got home or how she got there.”

“I think something happened to Dr. Ford. I’m gonna listen to Brett Kavanaugh,” he added. “They [Democrats] knew about this in July. We offered to go out there [California].”
