Way’s broadcast career received another major boost in 1997. On top of hosting TV’s “High School Scoreboard Live” and becoming radio play-by-play voice for UT women’s basketball, Craig moved with his family to Austin to host a daily sports talk show. Craig assumed his current position as “Voice of the Texas Longhorns.” In 2001, after his Longhorn Radio Network broadcast partner Bill Schoenig moved on to call San Antonio Spurs games. 16 years later, he added to an already succesful career resume, when he was named Sports Director by the Austin Radio Network to coordinate Longhorn football, basketball, baseball, and softball broadcasts, as well as nurture ARN’s evolving high school football network.
