Cynthia Wade is an American television, commercial and film director, producer and cinematographer. She has exercised her directorship on documentaries on social issues including Shelter Dogs in 2003 about animal welfare and Freeheld in 2007 about LGBT rights as well as television commercials and web campaigns. Her works have earned her accolades, including an Oscar in 2008. won over 40 film festival awards and was nominated for her second Oscar in 2013.
Wade’s vocation in narrative filmmaking has included work for pretty much every transmission outlet and many non-benefit and corporate customers. She is Director and Cinematographer of the full-length narrative Shelter Dogs (2003), which will air on HBO in 2004.
