Born in Yorktown, New York, Dave Ross is an American talk show host on Seattle’s KIRO-FM radio station. Dave joined KIRO as a news anchor in 1978 and was later given his own talk show in 1987.
Dave has sometimes broadcast his show while on assignment in other locations, including overseas, such as Baghdad, Iraq in April 2004. Ross is also heard on the CBS Radio Network, where he provides daily political commentary. He was the 2004 Democratic Party candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives for Washington’s 8th congressional district. Born in a Catholic family in Yorktown Heights, New York, Ross is a commercial artist’s son and has a brother and two sisters. At the age of 15, he began his career at WVIP in Mt. Kisco, New York. Ross worked as a journalist at the WSB in Atlan after graduating from Cornell University in 1973, where he was a member of the Cornell University Glee Club and of the Quill and Dagger Society.

Ross got the Best Commentary Award for RTNDA Edward R. Murrow in 2001 and 2005. However, because the ceremony was planned for September 12, 2001, he was unable to accept the 2001 prize personally. On September 11, 2001, he was booked on a flight to Nashville but instead ended up being assigned to cover the terrorist attacks in New York City. Ross was also nominated for the Marconi Award and nomination and Clarion and Gabriel Awards. He was voted “Best Talk Show Host” by the Seattle Weekly.
