David Arnold Career
Arnold also appeared in Godzilla in 1998. He has likewise appeared in a number of Television series among them Little Britain and Sherlock. He is scoring the BBC / Amazon Prime series Good Omens adapted by Neil Gaiman from his book Good Omens, written by Terry Pratchett. Arnold began his profession while attending a Sixth Form College in Luton. He developed a strong friendship with director Danny Cannon who later created short films and asked him to write the music. Director Danny and Arnold their first major appearances with The Young Americans.
“Play Dead”, a song from the film with singer Björk, charted number 12 in the UK. Arnold would subsequently appear in the Stargate and Last of the Dogmen which opened great opportunities for him in his career. He then wrote music for Stargate director Roland Emmerich’s movies, Independence Day and Godzilla. He also composed for four movies by director John Singleton.
He has also scored various comedies, dramas, and nineteenth-century period pieces.
