David Eigenberg Leaving Chicago Fire
‘Chicago Fire’: Who From the Cast Is Coming Back For Newly Ordered Season 7
NBC tonight renewed all three Chicago series. The oldest of them, flagship Chicago Fire, was picked up for the seventh season.
All five remaining original cast members — Jesse Spencer, Taylor Kinney, Eamonn Walker, Monica Raymund, and David Eigenberg — initially had six-year contracts that were to expire at the end of the current season.
I hear sometime earlier this season, Chicago Fire producers Wolf Entertainment and Universal TV approached leads Spencer and Kinney about new deals. I hear both signed one-year extensions that will take them through the upcoming seventh season.
I hear neither of the other three actors, Walker, Raymund or Eigenberg, had been offered new contracts ahead of the renewal. Conversations may start now that Season 7 has been officially ordered.
There has been speculation that Raymund, the most prominent female cast member on the show, may not continue on the series beyond her original contract.
I hear Chicago Fire‘s season finale, which airs tomorrow night, includes a cliffhanger featuring her character that could go either way — with Raymund leaving or coming back. I hear there are no cliffhangers involving Walker or Eigenberg’s characters.
On the show, Walker plays Battalion Chief Wallace Boden, who oversees the firefighters and paramedics of Truck 81. Raymund plays Paramedic in Charge/Firefighter Candidate Gabriela “Gabby” Dawson.
Eigenberg plays Senior Firefighter Christopher Herrmann, Chicago Fire’s cast also includes Kara Killmer, Miranda Rae Mayo, Christian Stolte, Joe Minoso, and Yuri Sardarov, all of whom joined as series regulars later and are all under contracts for one or more seasons.
Chicago Fire looks into the lives of the firefighters, rescue squad and paramedics of Chicago Firehouse 51 risk their lives week in and week out to save and protect the citizens of their city.
