Eddie Griffin is an American actor and comedian who rose to fame for portraying the role of Eddie Sherman in an American sitcom called Malcolm & Eddie. He also played the title character in a 2002 comedy film called the Undercover Brother and Tiberius Jefferson’s role in Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo in 1999 and Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo in 2005.
Eddie Griffin was raised by his single mother, Doris Thomas, a phone company operator. When Griffin wass 16 years old in 1984, he moved to Compton, California to live with his cousins. After graduating from Compton High in 1986, Griffin enrolled as a biological engineering major at Kansas State University, but later left in 1988 and moved to New York City to pursue a career in comedy.
He did not see his mother for four years, after the two got into an argument at his 20th birthday party, where Eddie’s mother accused him of stealing jewelry from her, which Griffin denied the allegations. Later in March 1992, Griffin moved back to Los Angeles, California to be closer with his family when his mother was injured in a car accident.
