Eddy Arnold Death

Eddy Arnold Music Career
Speaking of his career, Arnold quit school before he graduated so that he could help with the farm work, but continued performing, often arriving on a mule with his guitar hung on his back. Arnold also worked part-time as an assistant at a mortuary.
When he was 16 years old, Arnold debuted musically on WTJS-AM in Jackson, Tennessee, and obtained a job there in 1937. He was also a permanent performer in the station and during the nights he went to local nightclubs.
In 1938, WMPS-AM called him for a job in Memphis, Tennessee, where he was one of its most popular performers. He soon quit KWK-AM in St. Louis, Missouri, and was followed by a brief stint at WHAS-AM in Louisville, Kentucky.
He performed for WSM (AM) on the Grand Ole Opry in 1943 as an independent artist. In 1944, Arnold signed a contract with RCA Victor, with chief Colonel Tom Parker, who later oversaw Elvis Presley.
Arnold’s first single was minimally seen, yet “Each Minute Seems a Million Years”, followed and scored number five on the nation outlines in 1945. Additionally, its success started a time of remarkable outline execution; Arnold’s next 57 singles all positioned in the best 10, including 19 number-one triumphs.
In 1946, Arnold scored his first significant accomplishment with “That is How Much I Love You” and in 1948, he had five successful songs on the outlines all the while.

However, Arnold quit the Opry in 1948, and his Hometown Reunion was briefly broadcast in rivalry with the Opry on Saturday evenings. In 1949 and 1950, he acted in the Columbia movies Feudin’ Rhythm and Hoedown.
