She began a career in TV while at OU, forecasting for the local PBS station WOUB. WOUB is a non-academic unit of Ohio University’s Scripps College of Communication. Elise says she was a shy kid, so getting into TV was something she never expected. Her love for the weather came from an Earth Science class she took in high school that covered meteorology and oceanography. She interned with the weather department at the ABC and NBC affiliates in Cleveland, Ohio. Monday night, City Council Parking Committee met to address the parking issue at the Cornerstone building on Leroy Street in downtown Fenton. The building features apartments above and shops and restaurants at ground level. Residents of the building want full time 24/7 parking, which the council is not willing to provide. The recommendations agreed on Monday night include the following: Replacing temporary handicap signs with permanent signs. All temporary parking signs will be removed. Three spaces with parking limits east of the Rough Draft will be removed along with three spaces in front of Fenton Flowers & Gifts. According to the U.S, Attorney’s Office, Tavaras Warren is charged with ‘discharging a firearm during a crime of violence, that is, a drug robbery, and possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.” Warren admitted that on December 3, 2015, he and an accomplice went to the victim’s house to sell marijuana, but robbed the victim at gunpoint for $2,500. Warren shot the victim before fleeing the scene. He also admitted to trying to obstruct justice by contacting the victim via a third party to get the victim to not cooperate with law enforcement. This was all part of his plea. On March 9, 2017, in a separate incident, Warren admitted to having crack cocaine with the intent to distribute. The CDC counted 7,465 cases in the U.S. with over half of that impacting 8 Great Lake states including Michigan, Minnesota, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New York. In a recent report, the CDC says its seen a 13 percent increase in the summertime parasites from 2009 to 2017. What are these parasites? Cryptosporidium (Crypto). Cryptosporidium is a leading cause of outbreaks of diarrhea, which normally stems from pools and water parks. However, pools and water parks aren’t the only thing you need to be cautious about. 14.6 percent of Crypto cases stemmed from contact with cattle and infections from childcare settings were 12.8 percent resulting in 418 cases of Crypto outbreaks. Out of 7,465 cases, there was one death and 287 people hospitalized. Here are some ways to try to keep you and your family safe: Wash your hands often. Use soap and water for at least 20 seconds, rubbing hands vigorously. Don’t swallow pool water. Germs and disease can be spread by drinking contaminated water, so never swallow water in a public pool or hot tub. Protect others. Don’t swim if you have diarrhea (this is especially essential for children wearing diapers). Shower before you swim. Always rinse yourself well before entering the water. Wash children. Before they enter the water, wash children using soap and water, especially their bottoms. Also wash kids after they use the toilet, or after their diapers are changed. Check children. Take children on frequent bathroom breaks and check their diapers often. And be sure to change diapers in the bathroom and never by the pool. Put down the hand sanitizers – alcohol-based sanitizers are not effective against Crypto. They are also ineffective against most pathogens if your hands are visibly dirty or greasy. Clean with microfiber – 30 percent of micro-organisms can be removed by wiping with a wet cloth. But if you use microfiber, the number can be as high as 99 percent.Related Biographies.
