Christensen began working as a play-by-play sportscaster on the radio for CU football and basketball games. This was back in the 1990 and 1991 Orange Bowl while he was at the University of Colorado. At first, Eric was hired in Scottsbluff, Nebraska where he was working as the weekend sports anchor and weekday news reporter.

Additionally, he was also a weather and farm reporter. Later on, Eric joined KDUH-TV and left 2 years later. After working at KDUH-TV, Eric moved to Kearney, Ned to work as a weekend sports anchor/reporter. Eric has spent 6 years in the Cornhusker State working as a journalist. Christensen came back to his hometown, Denver, and worked as a sports producer at Clear Channel Communications.
