Adrien Devyver tells how he stopped the cigarette
It’s been nine months since the host of “Vis ta mine” and “The Big Cactus” on La Deux crushed his last cigarette!
In recent weeks, Adrien Devyver has embarked on writing a blog on the internet, in which he discusses his favorites and personal moods.
In late February, he celebrates his 3/4 year without tobacco by posting an article in which he shares his experience. If some people try it with patches or chewing gum, the 36-year-old has escaped … by vaping!
“I was buying an electronic cigarette, nicotine,” he wrote. “I was half convinced, I had read everything and its opposite about it, but I wanted to try it. I continued to smoke “normal” cigarettes but in less quantity. The vapote came to my aid in case of lack. And then, on May 28th, the last day of the Tennis Interclubs (we got miserably out in the first round), on my way home with a pack of cigarettes in my lungs, smoked in one day, I decided that everything this cinema was finished. Forever.”
And contrary to what he imagined, the challenge was not insurmountable, provided you hang on! “It was very complicated the first fifteen days,” he recalls.”But I never stopped fighting. It was only in the head. Physically, I never, but really never, felt a lack (or so, I was not able to identify it). I had the vapote to help me. She took it dear, but she did it too! And then, little by little, I dropped that crutch. Very precisely after 45 days (it’s crazy as the stopping of the cigarette is an event that remains engraved in the memory “calendar”, we remember all the dates). Since then, I have never touched a “normal” or electronic cigarette. The desires have become less and less frequent. They’re still here, but their action times are getting shorter and shorter. ”
The only negative consequence of this judgment: a few extra pounds. “I took a little weight (June = barbecue, Euro = beers, holidays = aperitifs ..),” he admits. “In recent weeks, I find a line a little less catastrophic.”
As he mentions, the list of benefits is growing day by day. “Physically, during the first few months, I did not really feel the difference. Since December, however, I feel much easier in managing long efforts, “he says. “I feel like I do not have to go for the second wind anymore. I took over the mini-football last week (we played 2X45 minutes without change), I felt so good, fresh throughout the game. It’s pretty impressive. We get along well, I’m talking about sensations, no scientific report. (…) I found a more balanced intestinal transit, less irregular. ”
He ends his ticket with a touch of self-deprecation to evoke his new state of mind: “Psychologically, I’m pretty relaxed. I am very proud of myself. Limit a little too much (that’s when we realize how much we are slaves of this shit). I talk a lot around me, it must certainly drunk my entourage, but the compliments on their part do me good. And then it forces me to never do it again (I did so much with that). ”
All our encouragement to Adrien for this great success!
