Duncan Jones Biography
Duncan Jones is a British film director, producer, and screenwriter who is best known for directing the science fiction Film Moon in 2009. This made him win the BAFTA Award for Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director and Producer. He also the mastermind behind the direction of Source Code in 2011, Warcraft 2016 and Mute 2018.
He is the son of the late English singer-songwriter, David Bowie. He was officially born and raised in Bromley, London. His mother was Angela Bowie who was the first wife of his father. Jone’s grandfather was a United States Army veteran and also a mining engineer who ran a mill for Cyprus Mines Corporation.
Her Grandmother was Canadian by nature. Following Jones’ birth, his father wrote the songs Kooks and Oh! You Pretty Things. He was originally raised by his Scottish nanny called Marion Skene. Jones spent time growing up in London. He then attended the first and second grade at the Commonwealth American School in Lausanne.
His parents later divorced when he was only eight years old. His father was granted custody over him and he visited his mother during the holidays. Jones then ended contact with her at the age of 13. He was later enrolled in the Scottish boarding School Gordonstoun. He then gave himself a nickname Joey. This nickname went on to change to being Joe in 1992. He then reverted to his birth name around the age of 18.

He also became the in-game cinematics director for the political simulator Republic and also the scripting elements of the game.
He then directed the 2006 campaign for the French Connection fashion label. Jone’s first feature film was nominated for seven British Independent Film Awards in 2009 and won two Best British Independent Films and many more. He then directed the Summit Entertainment project Source Code which is a science fiction thriller from Vendome Pictures which was produced by mark. He then announced that his next project will be a superhero movie, centered around the Rogue Trooper based on the 2000 AD Comics Character.

British director Nicolas Roeg, whose 1970s-era films such as “Don’t Look Now,” “The Man Who Fell to Earth” and “Performance” became touchstones for numerous budding filmmakers and cinephiles, died Friday.
