Jordon Ibe Biography
Jordon Ibe born Jordon Ashley Femi Ibe, is an English professional footballer. Ibe plays as an attacking midfielder or a winger for Premier League club AFC Bournemouth.
Jordon Ibe was born on 8 December 1995 in Bermondsey, in the London Borough of Southwark. He attended Sacred Heart Catholic School, Camberwell.
Jordon Ibe signed for the Wycombe Wanderers youth team in 2007 at the age of 12, following his release from the Charlton Athletic youth team. Making his first senior appearance at the age of just 15 years and 311 days, Ibe became Wycombe’s youngest-ever Football League player and also became their youngest goal scorer in the Football League after scoring in the club’s 2-1 loss to Sheffield Wednesday.
Liverpool signed the 16-year-old Ibe on 20 December 2011, calling him up to the first team less than 18 months later, having initially joined up with the club’s under-18 squad. Ibe was called up to the bench for the Premier League game at Southampton on 16 March 2013 though he remained unused. He made his Premier League debut against Queens Park Rangers on the final day of the 2012/13 season, getting an assist during an impressive performance.
For the 2013–14 season, he made his first start of the season on 27 August against Notts County in the League Cup second round. It was on 8 February 2014, that he made his second Premier League appearance in the game against Arsenal, coming in as a 76th-minute substitute. The winger spent the second half of the 2013/14 season on loan at Birmingham City and the first half of the 2014/15 season on loan at Derby County, where he really impressed, scoring five goals in 20 appearances, resulting in him being recalled by Liverpool on 15 January 2015.
Jordon Ibe made his first Premier League start of the 2014–15 season on 7 February in a goalless Merseyside Derby against Everton. He was named man of the match in the game against Everton. Three days later, he started in Liverpool’s 3–2 league victory over Tottenham Hotspur and was involved in the build-up to their third and game-winning goal. Ibe won a late penalty, converted by Mario Balotelli to secure a 1–0 victory over Beşiktaş in the Europa League at Anfield. On 13 April, he made his comeback from an injury in a 2–0 win over Newcastle United and played for about an hour.
On 21 May 2015, Ibe signed a long-term contract with Liverpool, reported to be a five-year deal. On 5 November 2015 during the 2015–16 season, Ibe scored his first Liverpool goal, in a 1–0 away win over Rubin Kazan in the Europa League group stage. Ibe then scored the only goal on 5 January 2016 as Liverpool defeated Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium in the first leg of the League Cup semi-final. Ibe scored his first Premier League goal on the final day of the season in a 1–1 draw at West Bromwich Albion. The 2015/16 season was a big one for Ibe under Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool, which saw him earn plenty of first-team action with the Reds as he played 41 times in all competitions.
Bournemouth signed Jordon Ibe ahead of the 2016/17 campaign on 14 July 2016 on a four-year contract for a club record £15 million fee. In his first season at the club Ibe made 25 appearances, including 13 league starts. Ibe scored his first goal for Bournemouth on 14 January 2018 in a 2–1 victory against Arsenal.
Jordon Ibe International career
Ibe made his national team debut at under-18 level against Italy on 24 October 2012. He made his England under-19 debut on 5 September 2013 against Estonia. Ibe scored a hat-trick against Montenegro U19 during elite qualification for the 2014 European championships. At the start of the 2014–15 season, Ibe made his first appearance for the England under-20 side against Romania and received his first call-up to the under-21 squad in August 2015.
