Down’s Syndrome model Kate Grant has been hailed an ‘inspiration’ by This Morning viewers after appearing on the show on Friday.
The 20-year-old model was joined by her mother Deidre on the ITV daytime show today where she revealed she has landed two major campaigns.
Explaining why she was in London, Kate, who lives in Northern Ireland, explained that she was doing a shoot for River Island.
Speaking to host Ruth Langsford she added: ‘I have really big news – I was the face of Benefit cosmetics in London.
‘It was totally amazing I loved every single second. Now the new eyeliner is coming out, totally sold out.’
Asked how she hoped to develop her career Kate said: ‘My goal is to be a model in London Fashion Week, Paris Fashion Week and New York Fashion Week and Milan.
‘Any designers, please ring us and support us. London Fashion Week is next week so I hope I can come in.’
And viewers at home were touched by Kate’s story, and urged people to cast her in catwalk shows.
Taking to Twitter one wrote: ‘Loving Kate the model, what an inspiration! Get her to London Fashion Week!’
Another tweeted: ‘Kate is absolutely gorgeous what a champion for disability, well done young lady you’re a star.’
A third said: ‘That young lady/ model Katie, with down syndrome is absolutely beautiful.

Kate was crowned champion in the Teen Ultimate Beauty Of The World pageant in August last year and has since modelled for Debenhams.
Her proud mother Deidre said that her daughter has had a huge impact on inclusivity in the fashion industry.
Speaking on the show she said: ‘Kate has such a drive and a passion for the fashion. She knows now exactly where she wants to be.
‘She’s made such a positive impact and given people so much hope for inclusion.
She added: ‘Kate’s the model, it’d not Kate with Down’s Syndrome it’s just Kate the model and I think the fashion industry is realising that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes.
‘It’s an amazing journey it’s a very positive journey and a very happy outcome so isn’t it lovely to have a positive story.’
She added of the global campaign: ‘I never expected it at all. Totally mad.’
