Lindsay Fox Biography
Lindsay Fox (full name Lindsay Edward Fox) is an Australian businessman born on April 19th 1937. He is the founder of Linfox logistics company, founded in 1956 and is now non-executive chairman.
Linfox is Australia’s largest privately owned logistics company, with more than 5,000 trucks across ten countries throughout the Asia-pacific region.
He grew up in prahran, Melbourne. He studied at Melbourne High School but was asked to leave during year 10 at age 16 due to his lack of academic interest.
He started working as a truck driver and he was able to use this as a springboard to find Linfox. Since then he has visited Melbourne High School on numerous formal occasions.

Fox was educated at Melbourne High School, but was asked to leave during Year 10, at age 16, due to his lack of academic interest.
For many of his earlier years, Lindsay played Australian rules football with moderate success, and he continues his involvement with the sport.
Recruited from the St Kilda Football Club’s thirds side, Fox was sent to Golden Point Football Club in the Ballarat Football League before he returned to make his Victorian Football League debut in 1960.
Fox did not think much of his footballing abilities, but as a ruckman he went on to play 20 games between 1959 and 1961. Business interests Fox started Linfox in 1956 with one truck.
Fox has been in dispute with the local council of his Toorak mansion by attempting to have the heritage listing that applies to all homes in the street removed from his property.

Awards And Recognition
Fox was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia in the Australia Day Honours’ List of 1992, in recognition of service to the transport industry and to the community. In 2001, he was awarded the Centenary Medal.
In 2008, Fox was appointed a Companion of the Order of Australia (AC), in recognition of his continued service to the transport and logistics industries, to business through the development and promotion of youth traineeships, and to the community through a range of philanthropic endeavours.

Transport mogul Lindsay Fox today was confirmed by Forbes magazine as one of the 10 richest people in Australia.
The founder and owner of Linfox Logistics has a total fortune currently estimated to be worth $3.6 billion.
With 5,000 commercial vehicles operating across Australia and the Asia Pacific region the logistics empire also incorporates a business park, two airports, currency-management outfit Armaguard and an extensive industrial property portfolio.
Gina Rinehart retained her position as the richest person in Australia despite having her estimated net worth fall $1.8 billion to $14.8 billion as iron-ore prices faltered.
