LOLITA MORENA: “MY CAR HAS MOVED IN ALL DIRECTIONS”
Updated On: 18 January 2018
The host was a few miles from L’Aquila, when the earthquakes occurred on Wednesday morning. She testifies.
Passing a few kilometers from L’Aquila, towards Amatrice, Lolita Morena experienced the earthquakes that occurred this Wednesday morning in Italy.
Strong shocks of magnitude greater than 5 hit the center of the country, currently under the snow.
The facilitator was on hand to bring material to the peasants without real resources since the 2009 earthquake and who do not know how to take care of their animals anymore.
Interviewer: How did you react at the time of the first earthquake?
Lolita: It was impressive! When stopped, my car moved in all directions. She moved 20 centimeters to the left and 20 centimeters to the right. Everything was shaking. Horrible. Then there were replies. In all, I counted three shakes.
Interviewer: The region is heavily snow-covered
Lolita: Yes, I have never seen so much snow there. Earthquakes triggered avalanches. I saw people buried but fortunately, all could be cleared. There were no serious injuries. In addition, fifteen breeders disappeared for many minutes. Twelve were found unharmed at the time I am talking to you.
Interviewer: How did the inhabitants react that you met?
Lolita: Despite great distress, I find them very brave. It is all the more admirable that the relief does not reach the area where I am, because of the snow. You know, a lot of houses were already cracked. With the ice that took place in the slots and the weight of the snow, they were already weakened. These homes collapsed this morning.
