Max Verstappen Early career
He began karting at the age of four and a half years. In his home province Limburg, he competed in Mini Junior championship. He graduated to the Rotax Max Minimax class and won the Belgian championship in 2006. He won the Dutch Minimax championship in 2007. He won the Dutch and Belgian Minimax championship as well as the Belgian Cadet championship racing a CRG kart.
He joined Team Pex Racing, a CRG customer team in 2009, and that same year he won the Flemish Minimax championship and the Belgian KF5 championship. In 2010, he joined international karting. CRG signed him to race in their factory team at world and European championships. During KF3 World Cup he finished the second behind Alexander Albon who is more experienced but he won beating him at the WSK Euro Series and also won the WSK World Series. He won the WSK Euro Series in a Parilla-powered CRG in 2011. He was picked for the Intrepid Driver Program to race in the KF2 and KZ2 classes in 2012. He won the WSK Master Series in the KF2 class and went ahead to win the South Garda Winter Cup in the KF2 class.
At the end of 2012, he left intrepid and after a short stint with CRG-built Zanardi karts and he returned to the factory CRG team. In 2013, he won the European KF and KZ championships. At the age of 15 years, he won the highest karting category the 2013 World KZ championship at Varennes-sur-Allier, France, in KZ1.
On 11 October 2013, he had his first experience in a racing car was at the Pembrey Circuit where he drove 160 laps in a Barazi-Epsilon FR2.0–10 Formula Renault car. In December 2013, he tested a Dallara F311 Formula 3 car run by Motopark Academy. In December at Circuito de Jerez, he had another Formula Renault test driving for Josef Kaufmann Racing. He drove faster than Formula Renault regulars.
Florida Winter Series
On 16 January 2014, he made his racing debut in the Florida Winter Series. In his second race weekend, he won his first formula race at Palm Beach International Raceway after he started from pole. He won his second race at Homestead–Miami Speedway after beating Nicholas Latifi by 0.004 seconds on 19 February.
He competed in the FIA European Formula 3 Championship for Van Amersfoort Racing in 2014. He finished his maiden car racing season in position three where he won 10 races in the process.
Max Verstappen Formula One racing career
In August 2014, after testing a Formula Renault 3.5 car joined the Red Bull Junior Team. At the same time, he considered Mercedez offer to join their driver development programme. he was confirmed as one of Scuderia Toro Rosso’s drivers for 2015 season. He chose 33 as his racing number and it was also confirmed that Carlos Sainz Jr. would be his teammate.
At the end of his first season, he scored 49 points. In 2016, after just four races moved from Scuderia Toro Rosso to join Red Bull Racing and race. In his first Grand Prix for Red Bull Racing team, in Spain, he managed to beat the 2007 champion Kimi winning the race. He competed in Brazil and got the fifth position overall in the 2016 World Championship and confirmed him as the hottest young talent in F1.
In 2017, he won races in Mexico and in Malaysia and became position two in Japan and got the third position in China and saw him secure sixth place overall. In 2018, he won races on Mexico and Austria and made a string of great podium places all over the world. In 2018, he finished in a career-best of fourth place overall.
