During a long drive through the Namibian desert, the celebrities become emotional – even Pocher can not escape the mood in the ” Global Gladiators ” container and begins to talk about his past.
He talks about Jehovah’s Witnesses
“I was a Jehovah’s Witness, I stopped it when I was 18. My parents raised me that way, your closest circle of acquaintances was the witnesses at the time and then I did that,” he tells his celebrity colleague. In particular, during his schooling he had to make many compromises. “No birthday, that was the classic at school, so if there were things like invitations or sweets, I was not allowed to participate,” Oliver Pocher continues.
Traumatic experience of his childhood
He was marked by the time when his best friend’s parents were expelled from Jehovah’s Witnesses . A “traumatic experience” for the then 10-year-old. “His parents were excluded and then he was just gone,” recalls the comedian. “That’s how it was for me, as if he was dead, before he was my best friend.” These are unfamiliar emotional words of the 39-year-olds.
“That’s nothing for me”
He has distanced himself from the religious community at the age of 18. “Anyone can believe what they want, it’s not mine, it’s not my lifestyle, people who are in some way in need of a stop or are scared of living in one way or another find salvation there, but for me it is nothing. “
