Stromae (real name: Paul Van Haver), is a Belgian musician, rapper, singer, and songwriter. His music is of both the hip hop and electronic music genres. Van Haver came to wide public attention in 2009 with his song “Alors on danse” (from the album Cheese), which became a number one in several European countries.
In 2013, his second album Racine carrée was a commercial success, selling 2 million copies in France alone. His music is primarily sung in French.
The Alors on danse singer was born on 12 March 1985 in Etterbeek, Belgium. He is 33 years old as of 2018.
Van Haver was born and raised in a family of five children of Pierre Rutare, a Rwandese father and Miranda Marie Van Haver, his Belgian mother. He has three brothers and a sister. They were raised in Brussels’ Laeken district by their mother, as his father, a successful architect, was killed during the Rwandan Genocide in 1994, while visiting his family.
At the age of 16, Van Haver failed in the public school system and hence joined a Roman Catholic Jesuit school. There, he formed a small rap group with his friends. His early influences included Belgian singer-songwriter Jacques Brel, Cuban son, and Congolese rumba. Even though he was raised as a Belgian, he has stated that he did not always feel that he was from Belgium.
Stromae Wife | Stromae Femme
Stromae is married to Coralie Barbier since December 12, 2015 when they secretly wed in a private ceremony that was conducted by well-known Catholic Priest Guy Gilbert in Mechelen. Barbier is Van Haver’s personal stylist. Together they created the label Mosaert: an anticonformist and colorful dress code that appears in his clips.
The artist is not on tour since his last concert on October 1st 2015. Visit this site for any updates on his tour.

Stromae Signs With WME and IMG
The Belgian creative is known for global hits “Alors on Danse” and “Papaoutai,” as well as his fashion line and creative label Mosaert.
Updated: February 1, 2018
Belgian creative Van Haver has inked a deal with WME and IMG. The musician and designer, Paul Van Haver, will expand his music and fashion portfolios under the agreement, revealed today.
“WME and IMG both truly understand and value my music and Mosaert’s creative visions; they are forward-thinking, all-encompassing and thoughtful in how they envision me continuing to grow,” said Van Haver via e-mail. “I look forward to working with them.”
One of France’s best-selling artists, Van Haver is known for global hits like “Alors on Danse” and “Papaoutai.” His 2013 album, “Racine Carrée,” received four-time diamond certification in France and went platinum 12 times in Belgium.
Mosaert, which, like Stromae, is an anagram of the word maestro, is Van Haver’s creative label. Formed in 2009, the label has directed music videos for artists like Dua Lipa (“IDGAF”) and Major Lazer (“Run Up”). It is also responsible for Van Haver’s own music, as well as a unisex clothing line, which Van Haver founded with his wife, Coralie Barbier.
Mosaert was previously featured at fashion festival Made LA. It is partnering with Le Bon Marché in Paris on an interactive exhibition tied to the launch of its next capsule, which will include home goods, in spring 2018. Last year Mosaert collaborated with Repetto on two unisex shoe styles.
