C. C. Catch Biography

C.C. Catch (Caroline Catherine Müller)  is a Dutch-born German pop singer born on 31st July 1964 in Oss, Netherlands, she moved with her family to Germany in the late ’70s. She is popularly known for her collaboration with Dieter Bohlen in the 1980s.

C.C. Catch Age

C.C. Catch Family

Her parents are Peter Muller (father) and Catharina Bierman (mother). She has three brothers Marcel Muller, Jurgen Muller and Marco Muller.

C.C. Catch Husband

  • She was married to Frank Otto but they divorced later.

C. C. Catch Career

At an early age she began participating in talent contests, she was originally a member of the German girl group Optimal, which consisted of four female members.

Müller was discovered by Dieter Bohlen (one half of Modern Talking) in one of her performances in Hamburg. Bohlen signed her to BMG, effectively launching her solo career. Bohlen gave her the stage name C. C. Catch, the two “C”s standing for the first initials of her two first names, and “Catch” which she thought was a good idea and looked great with the initials.

C. C. Catch

Catch released her debut single “I Can Lose My Heart Tonight” in the summer of 1985. The single entered the Top 20 in some European countries, including Germany and Switzerland.

C.C. Catch worked together with Bohlen releasingtwelve singles and four albums before parting ways in 1989. Catch wanted to bring more personal input to her songs, but Bohlen refused. As a result, in 1989, she parted ways with him and BMG. However, it took some court hearings for her to win the rights to her stage name.

Catch met Simon Napier Bell (former manager of Wham!’s George Michael) on a New Year’s Eve television show in Spain. Bell became her manager & signed her to Polygram subsidiary Metronome.

In the end of 1989 she released her 1st and only album, ‘Hear What I Say’ under the label. The album was her last. It sold more than her previous two albums, Big Fun and Diamonds, demonstrating her abilities as an artist working on her own terms.

From this album, “Big Time” was released as a single in 1989, and peaked at No.26 in Germany.[7] During this time, BMG also released the single “Baby I Need Your Love”, along with the compilation Classics.

CC Catch: Successful cooperation with time turned into a hell from which she managed to escape.

Updated On: 18th January 2018

In the 1980s, CC Catch, a German singer of Dutch origin, was referred to as the disco queen. With her hits: “I Can Lose My Heart Tonight” or “Strangers by Night” were playing in every European club. However, the good streak did not last long .

If it was not for her father Caroline Müller , perhaps her adventure with the song would never have started. – Of the four children, I was the only daughter. Dad met all my desires. When, at the age of 13, I wanted to sing, he bought me good equipment, a microphone and … he became my manager – confessed the artist. The man did not lose hope that her talent would be discovered. That’s how it happened when Dieter Bohlen appeared at one of the Optimal concerts, the female quartet she played in. A week later, the girl left the band and started recording with the Modern Talking leader. – That’s how CC Catch was born – mentioned the singer’s father. With the popularity of her debut album, the heart of the star began to beat harder to Frank Otto, a young drummer who collaborated with Bohlen.

Everything went well until the beloved began to persuade her to greater artistic independence. When she listened to him, Dieter did not hide his anger. Soon their conflict came to the press. – She had no voice at all. Carolina did not have owe him any cash: “He treatened the work on the record like a tape in a factory. ” In a rematch, Bohlen banned Caroline from using the CC Catch nickname he invented. The court quashed the decision, but the demand for the singer dropped anyway. A trip to Great Britain together with a partner had helped her re-enter the industry. However, it did not happen. What’s more, her relationship with Frank broke up. Soon, she met an American, a yoga teacher, but she did not start a family with him. – I do not have time for children, I am constantly working – said the artist in 2005. Perhaps this caused the marriage to break up. After the divorce, the star received a house in Spanish Marbella from her former husband, where she lives alone until today. He is not bored because he still performs. Our country is the most fond of our country. – I love the Polish audience. Nobody knows my songs so well, “said the star.
