Football Career
Ramsay played football and was the first chosen to play under-14 football at age 12. His footballing career was marked by injuries, causing him to remark later in life,” Perhaps I was doomed when it came to football. Ramsay had a trial with Rangers, the club he supported as a boy. He seriously injured his knee, smashing the cartilage during training. Ramsay has claimed to have played two first-team games for Rangers. Ramsay was signed by the club at the age of 15. Cooking Career
At the age of 19, Ramsay paid more serious attention to his culinary education. Ramsay enrolled at North Oxfordshire Technical College, sponsored by the Rotarians, to study hotel management. Ramsay describes his decision to enter the catering college as ”an accident, a complete accident.” In the mid-1980s, Ramsay worked as a commies chef at the Wroxton House Hotel then ran the kitchen and 60-seat dining room at the Wickham Arms, until his sexual relationship with the owner’s wife made the situation difficult. Ramsay then moved to London, where he worked in a series of restaurants until being inspired to work for the temperamental Macro Pierre White at Harveys.
Ramsay, tired after working at Harveys for two years and ten months. He decided that the way to further advance his career was to study French cuisine. Albert Roux innvited Ramsay to work with him at Hotel Diva, a ski resort in the French Alps, as his number two. From there, a 23-year-old Ramsay moved to Paris to work with Guy Savoy and Joël Robuchon, both Michelin-starred chefs. In Master Chef series 3 episode 18, Gordon Ramsay stated that Guy Savoy was his mentor.
Ramsay was offered the position of the head chef on his return to London under chef-patron Pierre Koffmann, at the three-Michelin-starred La Tante Claire in Chelsea. Despite the restaurant’s success, a dispute with Ramsay’s business owners, who wanted to turn Aubergine into a chain, and Ramsay’s dream of running his own restaurant led to his leaving the partnership in July 1998.

GORDON RAMSAY ADDS VEGAN IMPOSSIBLE BURGER TO HIS MENUS
Singapore is set to welcome another vegan meat product to its shores, Business Insider reports.
The vegan movement in Singapore is growing. Late last year, it was reported that “vegan activities” in the island nation had increased by 140 percent.
The island recently became home to Beyond Meat and Omnipork, two brands making plant-based meats that closely resemble their animal-based counterparts.
Impossible Foods is the latest to arrive in Singapore. The brand’s products will be served up in three restaurants opened by Michelin-starred chefs: Wolfgang Puck’s CUT, David Myers’ Adrift, and Gordon Ramsay’s Bread Street Kitchen.
Impossible Foods’ vegan patties are made with ingredients like potato, wheat, sunflower oil, and konjac. They boast the same amount of protein and iron as 80/20 ground beef.
They’re also more sustainable, using “a small fraction” of the land and water required to raise animals. Additionally, the vegan meat generates “vastly fewer” greenhouse gases than animal-based meat.
Executive chef at Bread Street Kitchen, Sabrina Stillhart, described Impossible Foods’ meat as “rich in flavour” with a “unique texture,” according to Business Insider. Stillhart believes the patty will be “welcomed by meat-lovers.”
Bread Street Kitchen will serve the patty on a burger called The Impossible BSK Burger. At Adrift, the vegan meat will appear in an Impossible Sausage Roll. CUT will serve up Impossible Sliders.
The plant-based meat will also appear in five other eateries in Singapore, in the forms of spaghetti and meatballs, patty melts, and fried kway teow. The burger patties can be found in more than 5,000 venues across the United States, Hong Kong, and Macau. In California, Disney sells No Meatball subs made with the product whilst Air New Zealand serves the burgers as an inflight meal.
Impossible Foods has attracted a lot of attention since its launch. Stars like Ruby Rose, Katy Perry, and Miley Cyrus have been spotted chowing down on the meat-free burger. Alec Baldwin, who is a vegan, presented Impossible Foods – along with fellow vegan meat brand Beyond Meat – with the UN Environment’s “Champions of the Earth” award for the companies’ efforts to make sustainable food.
On the heels of its successful January vegan pizza launch, Pizza Hut’s 253 UK locations will expand their offerings to include a new three-course vegan menu, featuring four new pizza options, an appetizer, and a doughy dessert.
Pizza Hut launched into 2019 with a big commitment to UK vegans and it didn’t disappoint; the international pizza chain doubled sales expectations in January for the new Vegan ‘Jack ‘n’ Ch**se’ Pizza – a BBQ Jackfruit pizza topped with Violife vegan cheese, sweet corn, onions, and peppers.
It’s not Pizza Hut’s first vegan option — vegan cheese has been available on UK menus since 2017, and Australia locations have been ramping up the vegan options Down Under as well.
But the ‘Jack ‘n’ Ch**se’ Pizza marked the UK’s first dedicated vegan menu option, launched in line with Veganuary — the popular UK-based campaign that encourages people to go vegan for the first month of the year.
With a record number of sign-ups to Veganuary for 2019, Pizza Hut saw overwhelming demand for the new option.
Sales of the jackfruit pizza were monitored by the brand on its Twitter feed using a “Vegan-O-Meter” that showed followers how many vegan pizzas it sold. Pizza Hut promised to make the vegan pie permanent if it sold 10,000 during the Veganuary campaign. But it swiftly surpassed its target, hitting more than 10,000 sales within just two weeks. And now, it appears, it’s upping the ante.
There’s no gimmick for the line extension — the chain appears committed to charting a new course and building new customer relationships with Millennials and Gen-Zers seeking cleaner, healthier, and more ethical options.
The new menu sees the addition of four new pizzas: the Vegan Virtuous Veg, a spinach and mushroom topped assortment; a classic Margherita; the Veggie Vegan, which pairs sweet corn, onions, pepper, and mushroom; and the Vegan Hot ‘N’ Spicy Veg, a cheesy pizza topped with onion, jalapenos, peppers, and special Hut House dressing.
Pizza Hut has also added a vegan appetizer option, the baked ‘Jack ‘N’ Rolls‘ rolls filled with sweet chilli, BBQ jackfruit, and vegan cheese. The chain is even offering customers a vegan dessert option: Cinnamon Bites covered in cinnamon sugar and an icing drizzle.
