He later deleted the tweet after people accused him of being a racist. He apologized by saying;

Calling Ariana Grande Rude

In March 2018, James uploaded a video on his YouTube channel in which YouTubers Shane Dawson and Ryland Adams were applying his makeup. Some minutes into the video, Dawson asked Charles to name the rudest celebrity he’s ever met and he quickly tells him, Ariana Grande.

In 2019, Charles was accused of copying the Met Gala outfit of Zoe Kravitz which he previously criticized. It all started when he was featured in one of Tana Mongeau’s videos in which they were rating celebrity red carpet looks.
