James O’Keefe Career

After graduating from Rutgers, O’Keefe served for one year at the Leadership Institute in Arlington, Virginia, under media peculiar Ben Wetmore, whom O’Keefe calls his teacher. The organization sent him to colleges to be a trainee so as to start a conservative dependable newspaper but after a year LI management asked him to leave.

According to LI president and founder Morton Blackwell, O’Keefe was ”very efficient and very zealous” but after a year he was asked to leave because officials felt his activist work jeopardize the group’s nonprofit status by trying to be relevant to the legislation.

O’Keefe made it known to the public secretly recorded videos and audios made during staged encounters with targeted entities. His work is mainly on the undercover stings targetted at liberal institutions and politicians. He planned to pin down Senator Landrieu and ACORN.

He has to maximize publicity by submitting clips over many days and months, often in relation to help permission or important political actions common to the subject institution. Many clips acquired large media broadcast creating important reactions,  most known clips of ACORN which eventually turned in the congress quickly stopping funds, two administrator agencies canceling contracts, and clips of national public radio that led to the surrender of CEO Vivian Schiller.

O’Keefe started a column on Breitbart’s website, BigGovernment in January 2010. Breitbart said in an interview that he paid O’Keefe’s salary for his ”life rights” to get the release of O’Keefe’s clips first on his webpage.

In the year 2010, he made his new organization, Project Veritas, whose targets is ”to investigate and make known corruption, self-dealing, dishonesty, and other misconduct in both public and private organization so that to acquire a more ethical and transparent society.

Much of the help for the project veritas comes from unknown donations via Donors Trust, a conservative, American nonprofit donor-advised fund, which according to its promotional materials, states that it will keep your charitable giving private, mostly gifts funding sensitive issues.

Spectacular donors include the Trump Foundation, which in May 2015 donated $10,000. O’Keefe is a prominent activist with mainstream conservative pro-market and non-government opinions, although he has explained himself as a progressive radical because he wants to bring a change, not cons serve them.
