Her career started when she moved to Chicago after she pursued her masters at Cornell University Ithaca, New York. She stayed in Chicago for 15 years acting in the Steppenwolf Theatre Company. She auditioned and one of only two women were picked to join The Second City comedy troupe.
She then continued with her improvisational skills at the Annoyance Theater, playing Carol Brady in the theater’s ‘The Real Live Brady Bunch’. Andy Richter played Mike Brady in the New York shows. He and Lynch became allies.
She started film work in 1988. She was given a small role in a film; ‘Vice Versa’. She then advanced in 1993, when she was given a secondary role as a doctor together with Harrison Ford in ‘The Fugitive’.
