Jason Momoa born Joseph Jason Namakaeha Momoa on August 1, 1979, is an American actor, writer, director, producer, and model. He is popular for his television roles as Ronon Dex on the military science fiction television series Stargate Atlantis which aired from 2004 to 2009, Khal Drogo in the HBO fantasy television series Game of Thrones from 2011 to 2012, and as Declan Harp in the Netflix series Frontier from 2016–present.
He also portrayed the lead character in the sword and sorcery film Conan the Barbarian in 2011. He also plays the role of Aquaman in the DC Extended Universe, beginning with the 2016 superhero film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the 2017 ensemble Justice League, and the 2018 solo film Aquaman. Jason Momoa’s first movie is Road to Paloma, which he was the director, writer, and producer.

On the 21st of April 2019, he shaved off his signature beard to promote the use of aluminum cans over plastic water bottles.
In the video where he shaved his beard, he said that he had done so to bring awareness that plastics are killing our planet. He further added: “There’s a change coming and it’s aluminum. We got to get rid of these plastic water bottles.” He goes on to explain that about 75 percent of aluminum that has been used is still in circulation today and it is 100 percent recyclable.

The program agreed with his decision and had planned to film a scene where Ronon cuts off his hair for Season 5’s, Broken Ties, but that change was ultimately overruled by the Sci-Fi network. His dreadlocks were reattached, on the first day of filming for Season 5, but the process was too taxing. He later switched to using his stunt double’s wig until a custom wig could be made and delivered two weeks later. The producers had asked him to cut off the dreadlocks when he was first cast for the role, but they became a trademark of his character, so he was allowed to keep them.
In 2014 he directed and co-wrote Road to Paloma, an American drama thriller film, together with writers Jonathan Hirschbein and Robert Homer Mollohan. He stars in the film alongside, Sarah Shahi, Lisa Bonet, Michael Raymond-James and Wes Studi. It premiered in April 2014 at the 2014 Sarasota Film Festival. It also had a limited theatrical release on July 15, 2014, in New York City and Los Angeles and a VOD release.
He joined the dark comedy/thriller indie Sugar Mountain in March 2014, alongside Cary Elwes and Haley Webb. Its principal photography was done in Alaska. He was also cast as Phillip Kopus, a Ramapough Mountain Indian, on the SundanceTV drama series The Red Road from 2014 to 2015.

Momoa was in June 2014, reported to have been cast in the role of Aquaman in the superhero film Batman v Superman; Dawn of Justice. His role as Aquaman was confirmed in October 2014. This marked Aquaman’s live-action theatrical debut. Momoa was also cast in the Aquaman solo film, released in late 2018.
