Jeff Tweedy is an American songwriter, musician and record producer who is best known as the singer and best guitarist of Wilco. Wilco is an American band where he is one of the members. He began to have an interest in music ever since he was in high school. He was a native of Belleville in Illinois at that time.
He had joined a musical band back in high school where he developed his career. Tweedy is the fourth child of Bob and JoAnn Tweedy. His father Bob died in Aug 2017. Tweedy’s father used to work at Alton & Southern Railroad while his mother JoAnn was a kitchen designer. Tweedy had been suffering from migraines throughout his entire life thus forcing him to miss forty days of elementary school.
Tweedy has three siblings who are older than him his elder brother was Greg Tweedy who died in 2013, his second brother is Steven Tweedy and sister Debbie Voll. Tweedy’s mother bought him his first guitar when he was only six years old. He began playing the guitar seriously when he was at the age of twelve. He used to attend Belleville Township High School West where he befriended Jay Farrar in 1981. He later attended Belleville Area College and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.

He is married to former talent agent Sue Miller. They first met when Tweedy was trying to get Uncle Tupelo booked at Cubby Bear where Miller was working. Jeff Tweedy Career
Tweedy first joined a rockabilly band called The Plebes with his brothers Wade and Dade Farrar. They joined the band in order to qualify for a battle of the band’s competition in which they eventually won. This was in the early 1980s. However, Dade Farrar left the band later because Tweedy had pushed The Plebes away from the Rockabilly music that they had played.
The band was later renamed to Primitives in 1984. Wade Farrar sang lead vocals and played harmonica while Tweedy played the bass guitar and Mike Heirdon plated drum. He later formed Wilco in 1994 with John Stirratt, Max Johnston and Ken Coomer. From the band released ten albums and found commercial success with their albums Yankee Hotel Foxtrot and many more.
From there it made collaborations with many artists up to date. Tweedy also participated in some few side groups that include Golden Smog and Loose Fur where they published a book of Poems and solo DVDs. Wilco then earned a chance to sign with Reprise Records ( Warner) and immediately began recording back in 2007. He was introduced to Jay Bennett who later joined the band.
After gaining so much popularity and success in Music, he then released solo albums that have since rocked the music industry by storm. He is pursuing his solo career while still participating in Wilco his band.

Wilco announce 2019 UK tour: How to get tickets for London, Manchester and Glasgow dates
The group will perform three UK dates in September, including a show at London’s Eventim Apollo on September 28.
Wilco, led by frontman Jeff Tweedy, will also visit Glasgow and Manchester over the course of the 17-date tour.
The group, whose music blends elements of country, americana and art rock, have developed a cult following since forming in Chicago in the mid 90s. Over the course of their career they have released ten albums and won two Grammy awards.
Since Wilco’s last record Schmilco in 2016, Tweedy has focused on solo projects, releasing the albums Together At Last and Warm in 2017 and 2018 respectively.
