Jeremy Nelson Biography
Jeremy Nelson is an American Chief Meteorologist for the Storm Tracker 22 Weather News Team. He joined WJCL 22 News in January of 2017 from Hearst-owned WISN, the ABC affiliate in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. There, he was a morning meteorologist for WISN 12 News.

Jeremy Nelson has called Wisconsin his home for the past 16 years. Jeremy is responsible for covering the weather and blogging on WISN.com throughout the week. Some of his most memorable weather moments include covering the July 2010 flash floods in Milwaukee, the Eagle tornado in June 2010 and the Groundhog Day blizzard of 2011. Before Milwaukee, Jeremy was the weekend meteorologist at KSHB-TV, the NBC affiliate in Kansas City. He also worked as the Chief Meteorologist at WMSN in Madison, Wisconsin.
ABC News is now hiring Rob Nelson, morning news anchor at CBS-affiliate WWL-TV in New Orleans, to co-anchor the program with Vinita Nair. No word yet on his official start date. Prior to that, he was the chief meteorologist at WMSN-TV in Madison and a meteorologist for Weather Central Inc. He began his career at WLUC-TV in Marquette, Mich., where he also served as a meteorologist for the morning news

Nestor has come and gone. The tropical system was the latest named storm to form in the Gulf of Mexico since 1985! Peak wind gusts in our area ranged from 35 to 49mph…highest at the coast. Rainfall totals in most areas were between 1-2.5”. The WJCL 22 weather team used long range forecast methods to pinpoint this potential system 3 weeks in advance. Our first forecast highlighting this system was posted on September 29. A detailed analysis of why a tropical system may form was included in the WJCL 22 weather blog on September 30. The first week of October included several mentions on WJCL 22 News highlighting the October 17-19 timeframe…including the clip below from our October 2 newscast. The long range forecast, followed up by detailed forecasts in the days leading up to the event provided you the most advance notice and accurate forecast of any station or meteorologist in our area. A huge thank you to our viewers who sent in weather photos/videos, rain totals, and wind gusts to help our weather coverage once the system arrived.
