Two men arrested in connection with Blake Street shooting in Fort Myers
FORT MYERS, Fla. – Fort Myers police have arrested two men in connection with a shooting off Blake Street on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Fort Myers Police Department, officers responded to reports of shots fired in the area of 2746 Blake Street around 12:49 p.m. Eugene Florence, 30, and Wilma Sylvain, 33, were both arrested.
Crime scene tape blocked off Florence’s home on Blake Street for more than six hours. Two cars were hit in the shooting, but luckily, both were unoccupied. Two crime scene unit vans were on the scene. Officers were also seen investigating off Cranford Avenue.
Florence is facing charges of assault and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. Sylvain is facing three charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. No one was injured in the shooting. Officers have not released any further details on what lead to the shooting.
