Robin was working in Ventura County when 23ABC’s director spotted her on TV. The director asked her to send a video reel. Mangarin was the first Filipina woman on local news in California and also went on to be a part of the first all-female anchor team in Kern County.
In her time at 23ABC, she traveled around the world to report together with stops in China, and also the Philippines. Robin Mangarin has also served as a health care reporter at KGET-TV.
In 2015, she received the Kern County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s Community Service Award.
